This church is almost 50 years old and was built by Sir Richard Arkwright at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. In all these years the church has mostly survived because of the generosity of the people who worshipped here. In 2024 this is still the situation as we do not receive anything from the Church of England or National government towards the upkeep of what is an outstanding example of a pre-Victorian church with amazing Biblical wall paintings.
